The recent innovations have drastically influenced the development of furnaces, thus bringing in a sea changes in techniques applied. These adaptations are done to cater to the ever increasing needs of the humanity. As wood and coal are a scarce commodity now, the focus shifted, to use a much cheaper, abundantly available fuel for a furnace. The electric furnace eliminates the use of any fuel, as device basically converts the electrical energy supplied to it, to heat energy. The conversion mechanism is carried out by the heating coils. The coils produce high temperature when electricity is passed through them. The air near the coil becomes very hot. There are many mechanisms to direct this hot air to warm a certain part of the room or the whole house. As the electric furnaces have eliminated the need for combustible fuel, it is also called as the electric heater.
